whenever i reboot my web server i can never remember:

/usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl start

this reminds me of a problem i had earlier in the year where i was getting “disk full” errors every time i tried to upload via FTP. even when i looked at the disk it was telling me it was 98% full, which was impossible. i didn’t know what the equivalent of chkdsk was in linux and then found the fsck command. now we’re getting full use of that sweet 4 GB, baby.

trying to get a BOSanova card & software (for mainframe emulation over twinax) set up on a new PC and it’s always a problem. i just got off the phone with ed from the computer center. he told me to install the main program, not the client and not to select the IRQ option. the kicker is that if you’re installing an evaluation version (like me) there IS no option to install the main program. BOSanova tech support is really good, they gave me a serial # after giving them my registration info.
