last week, erich reintroduced me to audioscrobbler, now lastfm. it’s a music obsessive’s dream and it’s pretty interesting so far, especially once you can access your lastfm ‘neighbors’ - people whose tastes mirror yours. i’ve already seen a lot of bands within my neighbor pages that i haven’t gotten around to checking out but i’ll make a more concerted effort to now. i may even give bright eyes another chance. well, let’s not get ahead of ourselves here.

last friday night, monica and i went to see labelmates/friends the silence kit at the manhattan room in philadelphia. their sound has changed significantly from their 2003 demo for the better. there’s a heavy early cure / killers influence permeating the new songs and i got a big kick out of it. check them out!
