i’ve been having this problem with hp laserjet 1200 printers being served through a win2K machine where print jobs stay in the queue, even after they’re printed. this normally isn’t a big deal until the server is restarted. if i don’t delete the jobs manually, those jobs will reprint. most of the time i’m on top of clearing the queue but it really sucks when you’re out for a day, the server restarts and 20+ print jobs get sent to each printer. so i finally took a few minutes to do some research and found out that all i had to do was turn off bidirectional printing on each printer. why is this on by default? is it even applicable to laser printers?
