picked up total overdose: a gunslinger’s tale in mexico last week. taking the free-roaming nature of GTA, the shootdodging of max payne, combo-encouraging gameplay reminiscient of of tony hawk, as well as the feel of robert rodriguez films. i have a number of issues with the clunky driving, unmarked save points and the gratuitous use of stereotypes (you have ’spicy’ and ‘loco’ moves, ugh) but all in all it’s a good time. recommended with a 7.5 out of 10.
