monica, nolan, colleen & i checked out alfred’s tomato pie (9 s. black horse pike, blackwood nj) last night. most of you know that i’m not a pizza guy but this was pretty excellent. alfred is the lone pizza maker - singing along with louis prima, frank sinatra and more (i never heard so many songs using the words pasta fagiole before) as he twirls dough in the air. the pizza itself is a homemade recipe of thin crust, plum tomatoes, fresh garlic, mozzarella and olive oil handed down through the family. and it is great! eating in can take a little while (we ordered two pizzas and alfred makes each one himself, one after the other, including take out orders) but you can’t argue with the results. highly recommended.
