this afternoon i removed the ancient alpine receiver from my car and installed a sony CDX-GT200. for the price ($109), it’s pretty hard to beat. it’s fairly similar to the one in monica’s car (plays cd-rs/cd-rws with mp3s and wmvs) give or take a few features (only a 3 band EQ, one display color, not satellite-ready but has a front cd loading slot and front panel aux input). shipping took over a week but i paid $20 less than what it was selling for on crutchfield. it sounds way better than what was in there before and it’s nice to have the ipod back in the car.
