came into work and our main server was in a loop of boot, finding network connections, “service or device driver failed to start”, BSOD w/ the following STOP error:

c000021a (Fatal System Error)
Windows Logon System Process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0×00000080 (0×00000000 0×00000000)

got into safe mode, nothing in the event viewer. rebooted and loaded Last Known Good Configuration, seems to have done the trick. logged in and got this error message:

huh. AV logs & scan looks clean. nothing strange as far as CPU usage goes. i wonder if this isn’t a driver error related to some of the problems i had with the upgraded HP TCP/IP Ports that came with the color laserjet 2600n i installed last week. more on that later.
