Mark Burgess of The Chameleons | The Silence Kit

On August 11, 2009 The Silence Kit was lucky enough to open for Mark Burgess of The Chameleons.

It was an honor to play a show with one of our big influences. We got a chance to talk backstage and ask him about the 2001 reunion, what the other guys are up to, and his future plans. He was incredibly nice and he and his backing band - The Curtain Society from Boston - played a passionate, energetic set full of classic Chameleons' songs, including Swamp Thing, Tears, In Shreds, Souls In Isolation and more. After the show we had a few beers together and he told us he particularly liked our last two songs - "Sea of My Discretion" and "I'll Always Bring You Down" - which was pretty exciting to hear.
